It's been a long, long time!

Wow! I can't believe how busy teachers are! I've barely had time to sleep and get dressed between all the lesson planning and school time I'm putting in! But I am learning lots of fun stuff. I'll have to teach you all "Fuzzy Wuzzy". So far that's one of the coolest rhythm things I've learned! (and, no, it's not just the poem!) Anyway, all next week we'll be singing 'Pumpkin Carols', so I've learned one to the tune of 'Oh, my darlin' Clementine' on my guitar, AND I can play 'She'll be comin' 'round the mountain', too! We are going to do an exercise in composing and make new Halloween words to that song - should be fun!
OK, funny story: One of the little kids in a first grade class didn't realize that I attend church with him until I filled in for the absent chorister a few weeks ago. Then he saw me at school and said "Mrs. Griffitts, I never knew you ever went to church!" Then, Thursday he said "Mrs. Griffitts, I know something." When I asked him what he knew, he stuck out his chin and said "I know how to talk to you without raising my hand." When I asked him how he was going to do that, he leaned into the room and said "I can talk to you at church!" Funny kids!
Well, life is still good but busy! Gotta go!

Oh, man. Kids say the darndest things. I still want you to post Steve the Plumber. I'm proud of you for putting all that hard work into those kids, mom. They have a great sub with you there! Good luck with the pumpkin carols. Can't wait for your first CD.

I want snow pictures, please. No teaching excuses, now. You're snowed in and have nothing else to do. Plus, I want the plumber story for everyone else here to enjoy. It's right up there with the "shove the dead Christmas tree in the fireplace to get rid of it" story. Thanks,
Heather
